Welcome Fall!

Good Morning Everyone,

It looks like Fall has finally arrived. We have been very busy in Pre-school these past two weeks. We had a great time at our Walk-a-thon, walking and dancing. Thank you WPGC for providing great music. Our kids love to dance. Thank you to all the parents who came out and volunteered to make sure we were all happy and safe.

Our field trip to Cox Farm was a huge success. The children enjoyed the day, from the bus ride to seeing all the farm animals to the hay ride at the end. We had a blast going down the big slides and walking through the corn maze. It was such a great experience for everyone. Thank you to the parents and grandparents that chaperoned. We couldn’t do these trips without you.

This week in pre-school we will begin to learn the letter C.

October is Spanish heritage month. We have been learning about Mexican American Astronaut, Jose’ M. Hernandez and will do a presentation at tomorrows prayer service. We will also be singing a song for the prayer service. If you have time in the morning please stay and attend.

Thank you for all of your support,

Happy Monday!

Good afternoon everyone.

We have been very busy in preschool.  Last week we learned the letter X and learned about different sizes.  The children had a good time reenacting the story of The Three Bears and sorting things by size.  We also learned about Earth Day and how to protect and care for the Earth.  We have been learning about plants and even planted our own flowers.  They are growing nicely and should be ready to go home soon.

This week we will start learning the letter Y as well as continue to review what we have learned so far.  The year is going by so quickly.  It's hard to believe that May starts tomorrow.

We are planning a field trip to the National Zoo on May 29, 2018.  Permission slips will go home in the Thursday folder.

Thank you so much for your continued support,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

Happy Easter to everyone,

I hope you have a beautiful day.  We had an amazing week in pre-school last week.  The children loved our in-school field trip.  Eric Energy taught them a-lot about science.  They couldn't wait to see what he would do next.  We learned so much about Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus.  The class did a wonderful job explaining about the "Real" Easter Bunny at prayer service.  Our Easter Egg hunt and celebration was a success.  Thank you for all the Birthday wishes.  I had a great day.  A special thank you to Olivia's Abuela for the delicious cupcakes and cake.  We appreciate you!

Have a great Easter vacation and we will see you on April 9th.

Love,

Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

I hope you all are having a great weekend.  Last week we had fun learning about St. Patrick and the Holy Trinity.  We watched a story about St. Patrick and how he taught the people of Ireland about Christianity.  The children learned that the Shamrock represents the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  We also celebrated St. Patrick's Day by wearing green and enjoying green cake.  The children were surprised to learn that when I made the cake it was white, but when I served it to them the Leprechauns had turned it green.  They also turned our milk green.  How did that happen?

This week we will begin our unit on Community Helpers.  We will discover what community helpers are and learn who is a community helper in our school.  If any one would like to come in and talk to the children about how they are a community helper please let me know.  The children love to have visitors.

We will continue to learn about Easter and the Resurrection of Jesus.

Have a Great Sunday,

Ms. Baker

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

We had a great day today celebrating Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  We all helped make green eggs and ham and we had a green and spoon race.  About half of the children liked the green eggs but they all enjoyed helping to cook.  We have some little chefs in pre-school.

I'm having trouble posting pictures.  As soon as I solve the problem I will post them.

This week we will begin the letter T and our Transportation theme.  We will continue to prepare for Easter throughout the month.

Have a great week,

Ms. Baker

Hello Sunshine!

Good Afternoon,

It is hard to believe that February is almost over.  This week we will finish up learning about African-American inventors.  We learned about Garrett Morgan, George T. Sampson and George Crum.  I think the children's favorite was George Crum, the inventor of the potato chip.  One of my favorites too.

This week we are also learning about the letter S and spiders.  The children enjoyed making Spider Sandwiches.  Friday is Dr. Seuss' Birthday.  We will begin reading Dr. Seuss books and celebrate his birthday with Green Eggs and Ham on Friday.  We will carry the Dr. Seuss theme over through next week because there are so many great books to read and celebrate.

Happy President's Day!

I hope you have enjoyed this nice long weekend.  We had a very busy week last week.  We celebrated Mardi Gras with a delicious pancake lunch.  On Wednesday we went to church for Ash Wednesday.  We will continue to learn about Lent and the story of Easter for the next few weeks.  This week we will also begin the letter Rr and continue to learn about African American inventors.  We learned about Garrett Morgan who invented the stop light and this week we will learn about George Sampson, the inventor of the clothes dryer.

Have a good rest of your day,

Ms. Baker
