Good Afternoon Everyone,
What a great couple of weeks we have had at St. Mary’s. We have been so busy. We had the Walk-A-Thon which was a huge success, our first field-trip to Montpelier Farms, and today Archbishop Gregory came to visit our church and school. The children were on their best behavior and did an awesome job . I am so proud of our children.
Thank you to everyone that was able to chaperone for our field-trip. You are the reason we can take these trips. We all had a great time.
Next week in our class we will continue working on the letter D and start the letter E and the number three.
Don’t forget, no school on Monday.
Have a great weekend,
Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Campos
Good afternoon everyone,
I hope you had a nice restful weekend. It is hard to believe that we have been in school for almost one month now. We have had a great start to the school year. The children have adjusted nicely to our class routine. We have been able to go to church every Friday and attend Special classes as well. Hooray for Pre-K 3. We are so proud of all of the children.
We have been learning about Pope Francis for Hispanic Heritage Month. The children all know who Papa Francisco is now.
This week we will begin working on the letter C, the season Fall, and Colors. We have already learned the letters A and B and circles and the number 1. We will continue to review everything we have learned so far.
Thank you so much for allowing us to teach your children. If you have any questions or concerns please let us know.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Campo
I just wanted to write a few words to say thank you for an amazing year! The children learned so much and they taught me so much. I hope you and your children had a wonderful experience. I know I did. Thank you so much for all of your help and support. It means so much as a teacher to have the support of the family. I truly love your children. I hope you all have a safe and fun summer. See you in August.
Love,
Mrs. Baker
It’s hard to believe that we only have two weeks of school left. This will be a very busy time in our class. This week we will finish up the alphabet by learning about the letter Z. We will continue to review what we have learned this year. We will be assessing the children for report cards and practicing for our end of the year celebration.
Our end of the year celebration will be on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 9:00 am. Please have your children dress up and please plan to attend. We will have a short ceremony and then have cake and party!
Thank you for all of your support,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
We had a blast on our Watkins Park Field Trip. The children enjoyed having a picnic, playing on the huge playground, riding on the train, and seeing the animals at the petting farm. I think they enjoyed being able to see the animals up close the best. They were trying to catch the chickens.
Thank you for coming with us on our field trip. We wouldn’t be able to go without you. We appreciate you so much.
Good Afternoon Everyone,
I hope you all are having a wonderful Mother’s Day. Thank you to all of you that were able to come and join us for Muffins for Mom. We had a great time celebrating Mother’s Day with you. The children love when you are able to come in and spend time with us. Thank you also for the Teacher Appreciation gifts. We are very grateful to be able to teach your children. We love each and everyone one of them!
This week we will begin the letter W and learn about size sorting.
Thank you for all your support,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
Good Afternoon,
I hope everyone is enjoying a nice, relaxing Easter break. This weather has been unbelievable!
Our class had a great time learning the story of Easter and enjoying 2 Easter eggs hunts and dying eggs. I love to introduce dying eggs to the children. It was always a tradition when I was growing up and so many children have never dyed eggs. They are truly amazed. Thank you Ms. Simmons and Student Council for including us in your Easter egg hunt. It’s always a fun time.
When we come back to school, we only have about 6 weeks of school left. Unbelievable. We have a lot to learn in those 6 weeks. We will also be having 2 field trips. One will be at our school and one will be at Watkins Park. I will be sending out the information when we get back to school.
Enjoy the rest of your week,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos

Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you all are having a great weekend and enjoying the sunshine, finally.
We have been very busy in our class these past two weeks. Our week of celebrating Dr. Seuss was a blast. Such a creative man. The children enjoyed reading all of the books and trying Green Eggs and Ham.
Last week we learned about St. Patrick and how he spread the news of Jesus in Ireland. The children were fascinated with the tale of how he removed all of the snakes from Ireland. We enjoyed green snacks and the Leprechauns came and turned our milk green. How did that happen?
We also had a very special guest come to our class and talk about Lent and Jesus. Thank you so much Sister Monica for coming. Please come back any time.
Our igloo is finally finished. Thanks to all of you for supplying the milk cartons. Next year we will begin collecting in October so that we can make a much bigger one. Ms. Campos and I had a lot of fun putting it together. Now the children are having fun reading and playing in it.
Thank you all for all of your support and help,
See you tomorrow,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
Good Afternoon Everyone,
We have a really busy week coming up. We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. Each day we will read a book by Dr. Seuss and do activities related to that book. On Friday we will wear red and white and cook and sample green eggs and ham. I love reading Dr. Seuss’ books to the children. They really enjoy it.
Tuesday we will celebrate Mardi Gras and have pancakes for lunch.
Wednesday we will go to church for Ash Wednesday. I will talk to the children about what the ashes represent and we will begin talking about Lent and preparing for the resurrection of Jesus. This is such a special time for our children. It is one of the reasons why I love working at St. Mary’s. It is such a blessing to be able to talk and share about Jesus.
Friday we will make and sample green eggs and ham.
Enjoy the rest of your day,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
Good Afternoon Everyone,
Last week was a fun filled short week. We learned about dental health and nutrition and exercise. How all of these things help us to be strong healthy people. Thank you Ms. Grier for coming to our class and talking about good dental health. The children were engaged and loved having you visit. We made a real food pyramid and the children liked exploring all the foods. At lunch time they asked us if what they were eating was healthy or not healthy. They are learning all day long.
This week we will begin learning the letter N and continue learning about nursery rhymes. Nursery rhymes are so important for young children to learn. They teach children rhyming words, sequencing and much more.
We will continue to talk about African American history. We will learn about the inventor of the band-aid, Earle Dickson. We all know how much our children love band-aids. Tomorrow we will give our presentation at prayer service on Mae Jemison. If you have time please stay for prayer service. The children love seeing you there.
Have a great rest of your day,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
Going on a car trip!!!
Golf tee fun. Nailing golf tees on cardboard. Counting one 10 ten.
Good Evening Everyone,
I hope you have enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend.
We have been busy in our class this month. We have been learning about African American History. So far we have learned about Mae Jemison, the first African American woman to go to space and Garrett Morgan, the inventor of the traffic light. This week we will learn about George Grant, the inventor of the golf tee. I chose him because we are starting our unit on health and nutrition. George Grant was a dentist and the inventor of the wooden golf tee.
We had such fun last week celebrating Valentine’s Day. It’s all about Love in preschool. Thank you for sending in Valentine’s for your child to hand out. They love giving their friends a gift. Thank you Ms. Raina for the delicious Valentine’s cake. We enjoyed eating cake and making fruit kabobs.
Have a great rest of your evening and see you in the morning,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
We had such a wonderful week in Pre-k 3. We celebrated Catholic School’s Week and Multicultural Week. For student appreciation day Ms. Campos made the children smiley face pancakes for snack and then we had an ice cream party after nap. The 8th graders did an excellent job as teachers on turn-around-day. They were patient and kind while helping the children play bingo and musical chairs. Way to go Adam and Edomias! Thank you to all of the parents for making our week so great by sending in all of the treats and delicious food for our luncheon.
We also learned so much about Nigeria. A special thanks to Ms. Felicia for letting us borrow all of her items from Nigeria and for coming in and helping with our presentation. It is so great to have children from so many cultures at our school. Thank you to Ms. Grier for helping our class tour around the world so that I could stay in my room and present with Ms. Felicia.
Good Evening Everyone,
I hope you all are enjoying this extra long weekend we have had.
Our class has been talking about how Dr. Martin Luther King was a good man and that he wanted us to be kind to everyone. He wants us to be like Jesus and love one another. We always try to relay this message on a daily basis in a way that our little children can understand. We will continue to talk about Dr. King this week.
We will also start learning the letter J and the number 10 this week.
Next week is Catholic School’s Week and Multicultural week. During this week we will celebrate the many different cultures at St. Mary’s and how lucky we are to attend and work at this Catholic School. Each class picked a country to focus on and our class chose Nigeria. We will learn about the culture, music, dance, food and many other things. If you are from Nigeria please feel free to send in any items you may have from Nigeria. We will be decorating our room with flags and artwork, etc. I will also make a Nigerian dish for the children to sample.
Thank you for all your support,
Ms. Baker and Ms. Campos
We can’t wait to see you all tomorrow.
Love,
Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Campos
